UpMonitor ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website upmonitor.xyz and the monitoring application at app.upmonitor.xyz. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use our services:

• Email address and password (hashed)
• URLs and endpoints you add as monitors
• Alert channel configurations (Slack, Discord, webhook URLs)
• Team member information you add
• Billing information (processed by our payment provider — we do not store card details)

We also collect information automatically:

• Usage data and logs (pages visited, features used)
• IP address and browser/device information
• Monitoring results (response times, uptime data for your monitors)

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide, operate, and maintain the UpMonitor service
• To send downtime alerts and recovery notifications you have configured
• To process billing and send payment receipts
• To send product updates and important service announcements (you can opt out)
• To improve the service based on aggregate usage patterns
• To respond to support requests

3. Data Retention

Monitoring data (uptime logs, response time history) is retained according to your plan: 24 hours (Free), 30 days (Pro), or 90 days (Business). Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your dashboard settings.

4. Cookies

We use cookies for authentication (keeping you logged in) and analytics (Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site). We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across third-party sites.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies does not affect your ability to use UpMonitor.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google Analytics — website analytics
• Stripe or similar — payment processing
• Convex — database and backend infrastructure

These services have their own privacy policies. We do not sell your data to third parties.

6. Security

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, hashed passwords, and access controls. No security system is perfect — if you discover a vulnerability, please report it to us.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us via Discord or through the Help Center in your dashboard.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify active users of significant changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
